Day Camp (Fredericton and Oromocto area)

-groups of six/seven youth/children
Part One - Before Departure
- Safety Kit - Whistles, PFDs, Bailers
- Boats - Parts, How to Sit, Where to place safety equipment.
- Paddles - Parts, Strokes, Practice
Part Two - On the Island
In the Boats:
- Don't forget any safety procedures
- Draws/Prys
- Check prior knowledge - Collectively and Individually.
Day Camp Schedule
10:00am - Arrival; Welcomes/sign-ups/waivers
- Issue of equipment, boats to dock.
10:30am - Safety Talks (dockside)
10:45 - Noon - Dryland Instruction (Break at 11:15)
Noon - Move group to Thatch Island Picnic Site for Lunch
1:30-2:15pm - Lunch
2:15-3:15 - Further Instruction in Boats
3:15-4:00 - Games - Tag, Marco Polo, etc.
4:00 - Head back to dock (collect kit, debrief, return boats)
6:00 - Departure
Upon departure participants are given a gift related to the history of New Brunswick and the Fredericton/Oromocto region.
